Umba Sapphire (Tanzania) 1.60ct., 6.84x6.82x4.9mm. Custom Round Brilliant (Sap245) $640.00
One gorgeous Umba sapphire: a slightly purplish red, the color is a dark tone of the Padparadascha range. Beautifully understated, this stone has plenty of sapphire flash. Like most Umba sapphires, there are inclusions (which prove natural origin for the stone). While visible in the close-up macro image, the inclusions are not apparent at arms length. Due to the nature of the inclusions, I believe this stone to be untreated.

Umba Purple-Red Sapphire 1.3ct., 5.53x6.98x4.13mm. Custom Oval Cushion. (Sap284) $375
Attractive Umba sapphire; reddish purple with pink and mauve flash. It has some silk, giving it a slightly silky, soft appearance.
|
Golden Umba Sapphire (Tanzania). 0.88ct., 5.2x5.2x3.75mm. Little Princess square. Untreated. (Sap229) $308
A pretty little Umba sapphire with sugary inclusions. This stone looks great at hand's length and has a lot of life. I've called the design "Little Princess" as it's a modification of a classic princess cut that I worked out just for this stone. Note that the stone is untreated -- something that's becoming increasingly hard to find in sapphire these days.

Blue Sapphire, 1.77ct, 4.87x9.23x3.56mm. Long Bar Rectangle. (SapB125) $350
This is likely from the Reddestone Creek deposit in Australia. It is lighter than many from that deposit. There are some inclusions typical to sapphire in this one.
|
Blue Sapphire. Custom Long Pentagon. 1.09ct, 5.75x7.16x3.70mm. (SapB165) $400
This unique sapphire was cut as near as possible to the shape of the rough I was working it. It came from an old collection and was labeled ""Montana Sapphire"". It certainly looks like classic Montana sapphire, complete with the silky growth zoning (visible as a soft grey line in the image above). The nature of the inclusions strongly suggest to me that it's an untreated stone, but Montana sapphires are routinly heat treated, so it's best to assume this one has been too.

Czochalski Pulled Synthetic Padparadashca Sapphire 1.96ct., 6.88x6.90x4.5mm. Square Brilliant. (Syn-SSap300) $150
Very bright, very sparkely square brilliant. I cut this using an experimental design and I'm very pleased with the look. Synthetic sapphire has a hardness of 9, just like natural sapphire, and is suitable for any jewelry use.
