Ordering
I prefer not to have a typical "shopping cart" system set up for ordering. There are technical reasons for this, but more importantly I would prefer direct contact. If you see something on this website or my Flickr photostream that strikes your fancy or suits a project, please email me about it. I check my email frequently, so I'll reply promptly to any inquiries.
Pricing
Much of my work is for the jewelry trade. Though I do sell to specialized collectors and consumers who contact me directly, I do not advertise beyond this website; I will not compete with my wholesale clients and prices you see here reflect that fact. Prices on this website are retail; trade members should contact me directly for wholesale pricing. Please include your store name, address, and phone number the first time you email.
Custom Work
I am happy to work directly with you to create a stone that fits your project. Custom work is priced on a per-project basis and may not be similar to the pricing of pieces already on my website. All custom work requires a minimum $75 non-refundable deposit. In some cases, a higher deposit is required to cover the cost of special order rough. Not all custom pieces are returnable, but I do my best to ensure the finished stone is just what you wanted. Send me an email and let's see what we can create together.
Shipping
In the US, I prefer to ship via USPS Priority Mail with signature confirmation. If you prefer a different shipping method, I accomodate if I can. However, if you are paying with PayPal, I must use a method with tracking numbers and requiring a signature.
Insurance is extra and optional; you must request insurance if you would like it. I strongly recommend insurance for stones priced over $500. Please note: I am not responsible for stones once they are shipped.
Payment
I accept PayPal and money orders. I will also accept personal and business checks from existing clients in good standing. I can accept credit card payments through the PayPal system -- it's secure and private; I never see your credit card information.
When you're ready to purchase, contact me with your preferred payment method. I'll generate a PDF or PayPal invoice for you so everything is clear in writing.

Returns
I will accept returns with the following conditions:
- returns must be received within 15 days
- I cannot refund shipping costs
- the gem(s) must be received by me in the same condition they were shipped (i.e., unaltered and undamaged)
- the gem(s) must be returned post-paid and with tracking numbers. A "signature required" method must be used with gems valued over $300. Insurance is not required, but you bear the risk of shipping.
Custom Work. Not all custom work is returnable. Please see "Custom Work" section above.
Availability
Usually, items listed on this website are available for immediate purchase. I try my best to remove gems that have been sold, but I am not always able to do so immediately. Gems in my Flickr photostream may or may not be available for purchase. Many times, pictures of newly cut stones appear on Flickr before they appear here -- so, it's good to ask. All available stones are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Keep in mind that I'm a gem cutter, not just a colored gemstone dealer. If you don't see the gem species, size, shape, or color that you are looking for, please ask! If I have or can obtain the rough, I'll cut it for you!
